No major news to report from the opening day at the Australian Open. Federer and company are all moving forward in the bracket, courtesy of a solid first round. The biggest statement of the day came off the racquet of American star, Andy Roddick. He made the finals of Qatar (losing to Murray), and he absolutely tooled Bjorn Rehnquist, 6-0, 6-2, 6-2. My fondest memory of Bjorn came at the 2003 Atlantic City ATP Challenger, when he schooled my doubles partner and I in the first round. Needless to say, that's a solid win for Roddick. I mentioned that he's a sleeper on the men's side, due to the Aussie heat, and I still believe he can go deep into the fort night.
